What I'm Reading: Kindle Edition

personal

21 Aug

With a more than 30-hour voyage in front of me (including an 18-hour layover and 3 + hour train ride) I have been trying to stock my Kindle as much as possible. My attention span for plane rides is a small one, so this won’t be the time to start re-reading Dostoevsky or the free Anna Karenina I downloaded, but instead a perfect time for Tina Fey or Mindy Kaling (alas, I have already read their books).

Here are the new books on my Kindle so far…please give me suggestions on your favorite books I should add, too! It’s a long journey to Aix.

Me Talk Pretty One Day will have you laughing out loud so I would probably save that one for the part of the flight when no one is sleeping… It is hilarious!

I also recommend any Paulo Coelho book (cliche for a reason) or The Interestings by Meg Wolitzer, which I can’t put down. Bon Voyage!

I really loved Euphoria (might appeal to your sense of adventure, but also has touching love story) and Bittersweet by Miranda Beverly-Whittemore is a page-turner!

Hey, I found your blog while searching for fellow TAPIFians. I highly recommend When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris, since he writes about moving to Japan with his partner. I read it when I studied in France four years ago, and it was nice to know I wasn’t alone in feeling disoriented and strange in a foreign country. He also writes with a lot of humor, so it keeps the pangs of homesickness away. 🙂
