The One Where Kelly Got Married

Traveling· Washington

6 Sep

Last month, I was fortunate enough to be a part of one of my sweet friends from high school’s wedding by designing her programs! I started designing programs for my best friend’s wedding almost two years ago, when she was about to buy a wedding program PDF on Etsy. When I realized she was about to spend $40 on a PDF, I told her I could make it for her instead–now I have become that person trying to sell them on Etsy (no store yet…soon!).

Kelly was in the first class I ever had at Great Bridge, and I am so lucky to have found her and sneak my way into that group of friends. I will probably never let her or James forget that I have a little bit of a flair for matchmaking…one day after school, Kelly asked me to get the phone number of a boy who rode on my bus. I had no idea who she was talking about, so I stood up at the front of the bus and asked, “Who’s James?” He had been sitting behind me the whole time…awkward. But soon enough, Katie and I were accompanying Kelly to Plaza to visit James and a relationship was born 🙂 (Maybe I give myself more credit than is due, but….that’s ok).

Kelly’s was one of the most beautiful weddings and I am so happy to have been able to be there for both of them on their special day. She was so much fun to design for, too, because when she first asked me all she said she wanted pink flowers and a tri-fold. Done and done!

Forgive the smudges on this side…it has lingered in my purse for three weeks! The Instagram hashtag was my favorite part–we were looking for a way to fill the blank page and this was perfect!

Luckily, I was able to snag one boozy selfie with Kel before the send off. Congrats to you both–I am so happy to have been a part of it!

You did a great job with the bulletins and I know Kelly must have been pleased! If I ever get married again, I want you to do mine but they have to be funky! XXX

When I would walk home from work in the summer I used to pass this bar and dreamt today it was still open and still loud, with people spilling onto the sidewalk. I miss you, New York. ❤️
